3M™ Cold Shrink Silicone Insulator 8445-7.5 is our open-ended, silicone rubber, tubular insulating sleeve, which is factory expanded and assembled on a removable plastic core. Simply prepare the connection, position the tube and unwind the core. It has an application range of 6.86-24.13 mm.

For quick and simple field installation use the pre-stretched 3M™ Cold Shrink Silicone Insulator 8445-7.5. Our insulator is created for primary electrical insulation for all solid dielectric (rubber and plastic) insulated wire and cable splices rated to 1000 V; electrical aircraft cables; physical protection and moisture sealing for high-voltage, air insulated connectors and lugs; insulation of secondary splices, copper and aluminium conductors, inline conductor transition connectors; and sheath repairs. It’s designed using our unique Cold Shrink delivery system and is supplied pre-stretched on a removable core for quick and easy installation. Removing and unwinding the core after positioning allows the sleeve to shrink into position, forming a moisture-tight seal. The live memory action of the specially formulated material ensures a permanent, durable environmental seal and insulation. It requires no tools, torches or heat for installation and is suitable for direct burial or submersion in indoor, outdoor and overhead use. The insulator has good thermal stability, excellent wet electrical properties and resists acids, alkalis, ozone and ultraviolet (UV) light. It’s waterproof, meeting water seal requirements of ANSI C119.1. The silicone rubber contains no chlorides and sulphurs.
