3M is launching a new global eCommerce platform, bCom, in November that will make it easier for customers and channel partners to order goods and access product and procurement information.
The launch of the new partner portal coincides with the switch to 3M’s new global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and offers an enhanced buying experience, enabling customers to order goods online, download product information and access real time prices and stock availability.
This new 24/7 business to business platform is a secure self-service portal that makes information available when customers and channel partners need it rather than having to work within the boundaries of office hours.
bCom will act as a window into 3M’s new ERP system and having instant access to key data such as minimum order quantities, pack sizes and logistics information will make the procurement process smoother for customers. It will help ensure that orders are as accurate as possible and create a more efficient end-to-end process.
The new portal has seven different ways for customers to order, robust search functionality and is built on a platform that can be continually enhanced based on customer feedback.
