The 3M™ SkyScraper™ Seat Track by Elixair is a line of hardened plastic scraper tools designed to reach into the otherwise difficult to access aircraft seat tracks and quickly clean away unwanted debris. Our profiles precisely match multiple manufacturer seat track configurations. With interchangeable handles, removal of debris and residue is fast, easy, and efficient.
The Plastic Solution
The 3M™ SkyScraper™ Seat Track by Elixair is part of a system that uses hardened plastic to scrape away unwanted residue and debris for fast, effective removal. The precision engineered shape helps get into the hard-to-reach areas, commonly found in aircraft design.
Depending on the model, we use either Ultem™ or Polyoxymethylene (POM) plastics in manufacturing the 3M™ SkyScraper™ Seat Track by Elixair. Unlike most other amorphous thermoplastics, Ultem resins stay strong and resist stress. They also retain their strength and resist cracking when exposed to aircraft fluids, aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, acids, and aqueous solutions. POM, more commonly known as acetal, is a thermoplastic that exhibits high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability -- ideal for scraping without scribing or undercutting the base material.
