Bubbles and dissolved gases can have negative impacts on instrument measurement accuracies and reliabilities in many analysers. Bubbles and gases can also alter the composition of a solution being analysed. Since time is valuable to laboratory and research centre personnel, removing dissolved gas can help to improve reliability and prevent inaccurate analyser readings or altered solution composition that require tests to be repeated.
Quality control steps in production processes may also require degassing to reduce the risk of bubbles registering as defects. Depending on flow rates and solution composition, 3M™ Liqui-Cel™ Membrane Contactors may help to reduce or eliminate bubbles in your process to reduce waste associated with discarding good product.
Compact membrane contactors for laboratory solutions can be installed in-line and use minimal space for easy integration into lab equipment, analysers or DI water systems analysing solutions. The MM series is suited for very low flow rates in lab-scale environment while EXF series membrane contactors are designed to handle larger pure water flows. The SP series is recommended for solutions with low surface tensions.
