The 3M High Flow Filter System is a result of 3M's extensive filtration experience applied to delivering high flow filter technology in a compact design.
3M High Flow filter systems are ideally suited to provide effective filtration at high process flow rates typical in applications such as Pre-RO membrane protection, Process cooling water, Condensate treatment and Bottling Plants.
The systems utilise large 6.5” (165mm) outer diameter compound radial pleated cartridges, delivering flow rates up to 113 m3/hr per absolute rated 60“ (1524mm) length filter cartridge. The compound radial pleat design delivers a large amount of filter media surface area per cartridge and helps maximise the usable surface area of each filter to ensure that all the filter media is used to capture particles and that there are no “dead zones”.
3M High Flow filter cartridges feature high efficiency polypropylene microfibre media that provides consistent, predictable particle reduction efficiencies.
A range of specifically designed 3M High Flow filter housings are available to deliver all of the systems benefits in a compact footprint for your production site. In addition to the standard Coreline single cartridge housing range, bespoke 3M High Flow system filter housings can be built upon request to a wide range of specification and design and construction standards.
High performance media in a innovative design
High Flow filter cartridges feature high efficiency polypropylene microfibre media that provides consistent, predictable particle reduction efficiencies.
Compared to conventional nominally rated 2.5“ outer diameter filter cartridges, 3M High Flow filter systems offer the following advantages:
Available in 10”, 40” and 60” 1-70 micron absolute rated filter cartridges, accommodating flow rates of up to 19.3 m³/hr, 80 m³/hr, 113 m³/hr respectively.
Municipal water, RO prefiltration, reclaimed water, coolants, nozzle protection, boiler condensate
Quench water, aqueous salt solutions, final products
Waterflooding, produced water, enhanced oil recovery, completion fluids, amine sweetening, final products
RO prefiltration, process water
Process and blending water, D.E. trap filtration, barrel char removal, final bottling
Process water
An ergonomically designed handle facilitates fast and easy insertion and removal without the use of special tools. Cartridges are simply inserted over a built-in guide tube. Filter changeouts are also quicker and easier due to fewer cartridges used.
3M High Flow filter housings
3M High Flow filter housings are specifically designed to deliver all of the system’s benefits in a compact footprint in your production site. The range is constructed from 316 grade stainless steel (wetted parts in contact) and has a maximum allowable working pressure of 10 bar for use with temperatures up to 120 ° C (110°C for 01HFN Coreline single cartridge housing).
In addition to the standard Coreline single cartridge housing range, 3M High Flow filter housings can be built upon request to a wide range of specification and design and construction standards.
The 3M Hardware team have extensive experience in designing special housings for filter applications. They can produce them to a wide variety of design and construction codes (including ASME U Stamp). Bespoke housings can range from simple modifications of standard designs up to large multiple housing skid mounted units with associated accessories and with both second shell heating jackets and electrical trace heating.
Bespoke 3M High Flow filter housings can be produced from single cartridge units up to housings holding 40 cartridges each. The operating conditions for the housings can be configured to handle liquids at pressures and temperatures according to the customer’s specific needs.
