3M™ Cloth Belt 977F features 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain and takes carbon and tool steel operations to the next level by providing you with significant gains in productivity over traditional non-ceramic belts. Our versatile belt offers outstanding durability and cutting power and is an excellent choice for all grinding pressures.

Use 3M™ Cloth Belt 977F featuring 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain, which cuts faster and lasts longer than traditional non-ceramic abrasives. Our belts offer significant gains in productivity over traditional non-ceramic belts and are an excellent choice for all grinding pressures. A grinding aid on the belts makes them outstanding product for all types of metal. It helps keep the belts cooler on stainless steel and heat sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium, reducing metal discolouration and oxidation as well as the chance of heat related stress cracks. This means our belts can outlast and out-cut rival non-ceramic products. For increased performance, these belts are made from 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain, one of the most durable, longest-lasting abrasives available. It’s engineered with a unique ‘stay sharp’ crystalline structure, which continually reveals fresh cutting edges on the surface of the workpiece ensuring an exceptionally fast and sustained cut. Perfect for moderate to heavy stock removal as well as sanding and finishing applications, ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and handle intense heat and stress. These belts are recommended for use on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. Fabric belts come in a variety of sizes. Wider belts are designed for wide belt sanders for flat finishing — to smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or on a feed through style flat finisher for imparting a finish on sheets and coils. Narrow belts can be used on backstands for grinding and finishing, or on file tools for finishing in right angle corners.

Suggested Applications
