MV & LV Cable Joints
At the heart of our range of our medium voltage and low voltage cable accessories is 3M Cold Shrink, which enables rapid and consistently high quality installation as well as long-term durability and is regarded as less hazardous to install. Since no heat source or specialist tools are required, installations of joints and terminations can be carried out in a fraction of the time compared to alternative methods and less equipment needs to be carried on-site - so when working conditions are awkward and cramped, time spent on-site can be reduced, lowering project times.
Plug-in Terminations
Separable connectors, from 3M, manufactured from silicone rubber and are available up to 33kV. Each kit contains all the necessary components to install one Separable Connector, including all connection devices.
Cable End Caps
3M Cold Shrink End Caps environmentally seal and mechanically protect exposed cable ends using no tools, mastics or tapes. They are close-ended, tubular rubber sleeves that are factory expanded and loaded onto a removable core. When positioned over the end of a cable, or other cylindrical object, the core is removed to provide a reliable seal that protects your cable ends from environmental damage. They are easily installed and cleanly removable, there are four different end caps available to accommodate a wide range of sizes.
Electrical Tapes
3M offer a range of over 30 electrical tapes and mastics for insulation, jointing, corrosion protection, all weather protection and environmental sealing tapes. From Scotch® 33+ vinyl tape to Scotch® 130C linerless rubber splicing tape to Scotch® 2200 mastic pads, 3M electrical tapes provide exceptional performance and reliability. Whether used as part of a cable accessory kit or stand alone for a variety of MRO applications.
Cable Wipes
Industrial wipes - for cable cleaning / degreasing are designed specifically to remove contaminants such as grease, oil, sealants and cable jelly from switchgear and cables. The product will remove even heavy or old deposits without hazard to user, environment, substrate or insulation materials.
3M™ ACCR Overhead Conductor
3M have developed a proven high voltage overhead conductor to support electrical power transmission. 3M ACCR is a high temperature, low sag overhead conductor that allows for power generated by wind farms to be delivered back to the grid. ACCR can also be used as a drop-in replacement on ACSR and ACSS thermally-limited lines, which can help eliminate the need for expensive new pylons and pylon construction, land acquisition and lengthy planning processes.
