A researcher at Cranfield University in the UK calculated that it could take 32.4 litres of water to make a cup of tea. This was not the largest cup of tea in the world – it was only 200ml.
So where did all the water go?
32.4 litres of water may sound a lot but the same quantity
of milk (a 200ml glass) could use 200 litres of water to
produce. Producing 200g of meat could use 1,000 to
3,000 litres of water, depending on the type of meat.
